We want to invite all of you parents out there to bring your trick-or-treaters by to visit us for some halloween costume portraits. No appointment needed, just bring your ghouls and goblins after school or on your way to your halloween parties and trick-or-treating. We will be shooting at our Sugar House studio on Friday October 29th from 12pm-7pm and again at Wheeler Farm on October 30 from 2pm-6pm.  On Saturday at Wheeler Farm, we will be shooting on the west side of the big brown barn next to the south parking lot.  Look for the sprout photo banner.  If the weather is rainy, we will be shooting at our Sugar House studio instead.  Please call us if you want to confirm our location on Saturday.  We wont really know until Saturday morning. 801-244-2778.

We are not charging a portrait session fee, just asking that you preorder your prints at the time of the shoot.  This year we will be selling a special halloween portrait package.  Each package includes 1 8×10 and 3 5×7 prints. Your first package costs $50, your second package costs $35 and your third package costs $20.  Individual prints also will be available for purchase.

I can’t believe it has already been a year since Mason was born. Last year I photographed his mommy all glowing in a maternity session and a month later we photographed little newborn Mason in our Sugar House studio. He just celebrated his first birthday with a big party at Gardner Village. Now as a one year old he is such a smarty-pants! He can already say dinosaur and light among many other complex words. Thank you Rachael and Rob for having me photograph your little guy. I just love documenting all the important stages and I am already excited for our next shoot! Happy Birthday Mason!!!

We had so much fun wandering around Wheeler Farm on an absolutely beautiful night and this family was just so cute…both willing to do anything to get their little guy to laugh, and I get the feeling there’s a lot of laughing going on in their home, and that makes me smile!  E was such a sweet little guy who loves sneezes, blocks, Leo the Lion and really *loves* his blankie.

I met with the Crandall family on a beautiful afternoon up at Mueller Park, and we definitely lucked out with nice weather with all of the crazy weather that’s been going on around these parts!  We had such a great time, Mom and Dad were full of jokes, the kids were hilarious and the grand kids were just beautiful!  I feel so honored to have captured these family portraits for them, as they haven’t had a whole family portrait in over 15 years!  I’m a huge advocate of getting regular family pictures, my own are so priceless to me, and I hope these end up that way for the Crandall family!

last summer i was so lucky to photograph the wedding of zach and tiffany up in jackson hole, wyoming. i met their brother and sister in-law and their sweet little baby girl, haven. fast forward a few months later and i received a phone call from haven’s mother wanting to come in for a portrait session. i am always so excited when a friend/client relationship leads to another and another. it actually turns out that I have also photographed tiffany’s cousin’s children but i had no idea of the relation until i saw them at the wedding. it is such a small world!

anyways, this is haven and she is such a sweet little girl… so expressive with so much personality!

please meet the beautiful family of katie and john graham. i had the pleasure of photographing their family a few years ago before they moved to south africa. i know it has been a little tricky for some of my older clients from my old studio to find me since i opened sprout, so i was just thrilled when i heard the cheerful voice of katie graham on my voicemail. after traveling around the world, they have settled back in the salt lake valley and they were due for some updated family portraits. we had a wonderful late afternoon session up on the the university of utah campus where john and katie first met and fell in love. “that is the building where i realized i was in love with your father” she told her kids. hopefully we created a few more lovely memories of the campus for katie and john.

another bonus of the sugarhouse studio is that we are just around the corner from the soup kitchen on 1100 east! i have kept warm sipping on homemade chicken noodle soup… mmmmm.

i just adore our sugarhouse studio, but on a day like today i am so thankful for this space!   i wish i could control the weather, but unfortunately i don’t believe the technology has been invented yet. today we were supposed to have a portrait party downtown but with all of this snow, i had to have a plan b. for those who had their hearts set on outdoors downtown, we have rescheduled. but for those who are more limited by time and had to have their session today, we were able to simply shoot in our studio. this pretty little thing is named london and she is one the smiliest babies i have met in months! i won’t have today’s shoots edited until next week but i just had to post one sweet image from the day.

i am excited to announce our next portrait party! we are going for the urban settings of downtown salt lake. i will be shooting from 8am – 4pm. we have had some really great shoots from our october portrait parties. thank you everybody for coming out and i will make a blog post about the wheeler farm shoots very soon so stay tuned!

i am getting so excited for all of the halloween festivities! we have had some great fall family shoots. the children i have recently worked with have been more than happy to tell me all about the costumes they will be dawning this halloween. they all have promised to come see me at sprout photo for a costume portrait… this year that I am going to offering free costume shoots all day on october 31. no appointment needed, just walk right into our studio and i will be pleased to get some awesome shots of your sassy cowgirls and scary skeletons. the following week all of the halloween portraits will be posted online and available to purchase at our special halloween discounted rate. our studio is located at 1053 east and 2100 south right in the heart of sugar house. our doors will be open for traick-or-treating and portraits from 10am-6pm. please contact me with any questions or more details.
