I am also very lucky to be photographing Asher every few months which is so much fun with such a happy and expressive baby with so much personality.  And just look at those gorgeous blue eyes.  Thank you so much Brooke for bringing the little guy in!  I look forward to seeing Asher in a couple more months, I think we are going to do something outdoors!

My first thought when I saw him was that he had changed so much already…and he was only nine days old!  I was so happy to capture these first precious portraits of him, and will be so excited to watch him grow!

Through the years, we’ve always stayed in touch, sometimes well…sometimes not so well.  But every time one of us picks up the phone to call one another, it’s like we never skipped a beat.  I’m so grateful for her friendship through the years, and was so honored to be able to be a part of this beautiful experience.

Heather had a really long labor, but was a trooper throughout!

Once she was ready to push, however, that went really quickly!  One contraction and baby Sawyer was introduced to the world!

I’ve never been in a delivery room for a birth other than my own babies, so it was kinda neat to see what they did right after she had him..the washing and weighing, etc…

As daddy was getting ready to make the phone calls sharing the good news with the families, he wrote the stats as to not forget.

Welcome to the world Baby Sawyer!

I can’t believe it has already been a year since Mason was born. Last year I photographed his mommy all glowing in a maternity session and a month later we photographed little newborn Mason in our Sugar House studio. He just celebrated his first birthday with a big party at Gardner Village. Now as a one year old he is such a smarty-pants! He can already say dinosaur and light among many other complex words. Thank you Rachael and Rob for having me photograph your little guy. I just love documenting all the important stages and I am already excited for our next shoot! Happy Birthday Mason!!!

It was such a privilege having this sweet one in the studio this past week…he’s my nephew!  This little guy made me an aunt for the 27th time (my dear husband comes from large family!)  So glad I was able to capture him at this precious young age…he’s very much loved by his brothers and sisters and the rest of our family!

I can’t believe these sweet babes are one already!  I first met them when they were just teeny tiny, and it’s unbelievable how much they have grown and changed!  We had these little cuties here in the studio for their one year old session, and man, they *worked* me hard!  Both me and their mama were sore after this session!      Cid, it was great to see your cuties again and I can’t wait to capture them again and again as they grow!

Toward the end of our session, we gave the girls their very first cupcakes to celebrate their birthday! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

eva was totally into her apple during the session, she just wasn’t interested in anything else besides her shiny red apple. we didn’t mind, it made for some great shots. now i know that i said eva came in for 1 year old portraits… check back in for part ll of eva’s birthday shoot. we had some fun with a birthday cake!

little eva jolley came into the studio for her 1 year old portraits. she was such a little darling and had the absolute best laugh i have ever heard come from a little one. i even took video of her so i could record that laugh and i listen to it when i need a little laugh. her mother anna, was so prepared for the shoot with the exact type of clothes and props i love to shoot. i advise parents to bring items that are simple and personal like a special blanket made by grandma or an antique rattle that belonged to mom as a baby. eva’s dresses were family heirlooms, worn by several generations of the women in anna’s family. the little neclace was even an antique passed down. i just loved the little white dress, so simple and so fresh. Also, the super sweet leg warmers were hand knitted by eva’s mom anna. i loved them so much that i have made sure to have her make several pairs for the studio.

last summer i was so lucky to photograph the wedding of zach and tiffany up in jackson hole, wyoming. i met their brother and sister in-law and their sweet little baby girl, haven. fast forward a few months later and i received a phone call from haven’s mother wanting to come in for a portrait session. i am always so excited when a friend/client relationship leads to another and another. it actually turns out that I have also photographed tiffany’s cousin’s children but i had no idea of the relation until i saw them at the wedding. it is such a small world!

i just adore our sugarhouse studio, but on a day like today i am so thankful for this space!   i wish i could control the weather, but unfortunately i don’t believe the technology has been invented yet. today we were supposed to have a portrait party downtown but with all of this snow, i had to have a plan b. for those who had their hearts set on outdoors downtown, we have rescheduled. but for those who are more limited by time and had to have their session today, we were able to simply shoot in our studio. this pretty little thing is named london and she is one the smiliest babies i have met in months! i won’t have today’s shoots edited until next week but i just had to post one sweet image from the day.

this is baby weissman. this is a great example for what parents should wear to a newborn session. i prefer mom and dad to wear nice clean shirts with arms that can be rolled up. The beautiful skin tones of a new bebe stand out beautifully against the dark tones of a black button-up shirt. these are just a few of my favorites from the weissman’s new bebe portrait session.
