Sometimes (and I’m ashamed to admit this) I think I take for granted the amazing place we live…When this cute family suggested that we meet up in Little Cottonwood canyon for their session (because this is where they had some wedding pictures taken a few years earlier and wanted some new ones showing their adorable addition), I was excited. Then as I drove up, I was struck with the beauty of it all. The brisk air, the gorgeous canyon, the beautiful trees….I am indeed lucky to live where I do, just 30 minutes away from this beautiful place.

Big thanks to the lewis family…it was great to meet you, and thank you for reminding me of one of the many awesome places we have nearby.

So excited to share this session from one of our bedtime shoots…they are quickly becoming one of my favorites from each year, maybe we’ll have to have a few dates for them next year!

I knew little Nora from her family session last year and when her mom suggested we get her family together for this shoot, I was so excited. It was amazing how much Nora had grown, and all of her cousins were so polite and
such sweet girls…just a lovely family to be around! Lots of giggling and sisterly “love”. It was a blast.

In other news, I wanted to remind everyone that we are starting to book fall family sessions! We expect to be very busy this year, so I recommend getting your session scheduled soon. We will also be having a few Sprout Out and About dates specifically for family sessions on September 17th, October 15th on location and November 12th in studio. Out and About Bedtime Shoot

You may recognize this sweet little face, this is Baby Peterson, a few months older than when you last saw him. His mommy brought him and a bunny into the studio for some easter portraits. we had so much fun with the bunny and easter eggs. He also got to enjoy his very first easter peep! What a funny new texture and flavor for a baby!

I know this post is long past due, it has been a busy and wet spring and we are already playing catch up on our blog posts. Playing catch up in the spring makes me worry about how crazy busy we will be in the summer and fall. Yikes!

This past Easter, we invited our clients to come in for Easter Mini Sessions to celebrate the special moments of the holiday. We had kids dressed to their Sunday Best and little ones in bunny ears. We even had a cute mam bring in a real rabbit! That post will come next

I am just going to show a few of my favorites from our Easter Mini Sessions, and little Miss Sawyer Dunroe was one of them. Her grandmother made the cute little bunny hat with ears by hand! What creative talent she has! And the cute little baby bunny outfit was perfect with the lovely ruffled little tights. (I love chubby baby legs in little leggings!)

Thanks Sharla for bringing Sawyer in for our special day of Easter Mini Sessions! She was so fun and so cute!

This is sweet little Graham Su at 4 months old. I have the pleasure of photographing this little tike 4 times over the course of his first year. We had him in as a newborn, he came in for this session at 4 months and I will get to see him again at 8 months and 1 year old. I just love doing these baby collections, I get to see how the little ones grow and change every few months. And believe me they really do change!

April Showers Mini Sessions

what a perfect little baby Asher is. He was happy and expressive and up for anything we wanted him to do for his portrait session. I can’t decide who he looks more like, his mom or dad. When his mom holds him, he looks just like her and when his dad holds him, he looks like a mini version of daddy. What do you think? Pretty cute kid right?

I am also very lucky to be photographing Asher every few months which is so much fun with such a happy and expressive baby with so much personality. And just look at those gorgeous blue eyes. Thank you so much Brooke for bringing the little guy in! I look forward to seeing Asher in a couple more months, I think we are going to do something outdoors!

This is sweet little Sawyer and she gets to come see me every few months because her mama has invested in the baby collection with sprout photo. It is so much fun for me to see her and how much she grows every couple of months. And I am so happy that her mama will be able to remember all those first year changes forever through our photography.

Thank you Sharla and Sawyer for being so so wonderful! And thanks again for the lovely set of wings you gave us for the studio! We will definitely use them!

Like many of the friends I’ve made on twitter, I’m not quite sure how the friendship between Lala and I started…Twitter is a funny thing like that (follow me here!). We are both somewhat on the chatty side (haha), and we’ve quickly become friends. When I knew I was headed to Las Vegas for a photography conference this past month, I knew I wanted to meet her. BUT, I lucked out and was able to photograph her and her family as well! I had a blast hanging out with them in some beautiful sunshine (I was soaking up the sun being from Utah, they were cold, being from Nevada!) Lala and her family were so sweet and gracious, even bringing me flowers (thank you, again!!!), and as you can see…they are gorgeous! Beautiful inside and out.:)

Thanks again Lala for the privilege of photographing you guys, it was such a pleasure to meet you..definitely a highlight of my trip!

i was thrilled to have this little guy into the studio for some first birthday portraits…I photographed this sweet little family over the winter in the snow up in park city, and their session still stands as one of my favorites from last year.

will is such a sweet little guy….calm, smart and attentive. We had a blast playing blocks, rocking out in the chair and laughing with mama…really love these moments, really love my job.

After talking to the mama of these sweet little ones on the phone, listening to her gush over their cuteness, hearing about their upcoming trip to Utah and the great ideas she had for their session, I was SO excited for this session in their beautiful home in Deer Valley, Utah. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day and a more welcoming family! From the minute I walked in the door, I felt like an old friend as we chased these little ones around to capture this precious time in their lives. I even was able to be there for them to hang out in the snow for one of the first times ever…SO cute!! It was so fun to watch them interact, each of them with such a distinct look and personality, as well as both of them basking in the adoration of not only mom and dad, but aunt and grandparents too! It was obvious these girls are very much loved, as it should be.

A big thank you to the Kercher and Belnick families for their warm welcome…I can’t wait to see you all again next year, and see how much your beautiful girls have grown!

Like most businesses, we are constantly learning and tweaking the way we do things around here to better serve both our clients and our work flow. As of March 1st, we will be instating our new pricing structure. It will not change drastically from the current pricing, mostly we will be adding new collection options that will be more appealing to the specific client, like senior portrait collections, baby collections, and large wall portrait collections. We are also excited to soon be offering some fabulous new products, we will tell you all about them later.

We will be raising the pricing of the small portrait sizes of 4×6 and 5×7. And….we’re back to normal blogging, hooray!

I was so happy to have this sweet little one with her proud mama and daddy in the studio this past week…it’s always so fun to watch the parents so completely enamored over their baby girl (as you can see in the pictures), and so gentle (note the baby sticker on the side of her leg that neither one of them could bear to rip off of her)..I just love it. I can’t wait to watch her grow up in the next sessions I’ll have with her!

And just a little news, we have some exciting schtuff in the works for 2011, including more Out and About dates that were a big hit last year and a few other things, and we’ll keep you updated on the blog and our Sprout newsletter (sign up here!)
