I knew little Nora from her family session last year and when her mom suggested we get her family together for this shoot, I was so excited. It was amazing how much Nora had grown, and all of her cousins were so polite and
such sweet girls…just a lovely family to be around! Lots of giggling and sisterly “love”. It was a blast.

In other news, I wanted to remind everyone that we are starting to book fall family sessions! We expect to be very busy this year, so I recommend getting your session scheduled soon. We will also be having a few Sprout Out and About dates specifically for family sessions on September 17th, October 15th on location and November 12th in studio. I am also very lucky to be photographing Asher every few months which is so much fun with such a happy and expressive baby with so much personality.  And just look at those gorgeous blue eyes.  Thank you so much Brooke for bringing the little guy in!  I look forward to seeing Asher in a couple more months, I think we are going to do something outdoors!

In all honesty, I really didn’t think this session was going to happen.  Driving up to Park City, it started pouring.  Not just sprinkles (I’m not afraid of a few sprinkles!), we’re talking an inch of standing water on the freeway, raining.  Lightning kept flashing and with every rumble of thunder, I was a little more disappointed that this session was going to have to be called off.  I just kept driving, trying to think of places we could hide under for some pictures if necessary…Fast forward to 15 minutes later, you would have never known there was even a storm!  Blue skies, mild perfect temperatures and a whole lot of grateful people!  So glad we were able to shoot that day!

They are such a sweet, genuine family…full of love and laughter.  I always feel right at home visiting them….and always leave thinking that  I should probably move to Idaho!

The cute mama in this family and  I go way back…spending a lot of time together as teenagers, and is someone I will always consider a friend!  Another thing I love about doing what I do is that it gives old friends and I a reason to get together!

It was so great seeing Lisa and her cute little family…Her little boy was so serious, I couldn’t crack him!  Glad I was able to catch him in a few moments of joy with his parents…those times are what life is all about!

I also have to admit I have a soft spot for this adorable family..the dad grew up across the street from my husband, and is also good friends with my brother, so I’ve known him for years and years, and it’s been great getting to know Aubrey better and better since we’ve been working together…they are just a sweet, genuine family that loves each other and loves to have fun together..my kind of people!

We had so much fun wandering around Wheeler Farm on an absolutely beautiful night and this family was just so cute…both willing to do anything to get their little guy to laugh, and I get the feeling there’s a lot of laughing going on in their home, and that makes me smile!  E was such a sweet little guy who loves sneezes, blocks, Leo the Lion and really *loves* his blankie.

Something a little different that shows a little bit into how I take the portraits of the cute little ones…It’s all about the conversation!  I never ask for a smile…get those kiddos talking and their real personality can be captured, complete with genuine smiles and the twinkle in their eyes…Here are some before and after shots:
